The Basics

  • Normal DCP Service is 11-14 Day Turnaround
  • 3-10 Day Turnaround is an additional $100
  • 24-72-Hour is an additional $175

Turnaround time takes effect once invoices are paid and assets are received.

All prices are based on “ready-to-go” files. If your file does not pass quality control, we will inform you of the issues/concerns before proceeding.

All pricing models include a digital download link and standard FedEx shipping within the US if ordering a hard drive. If you need overnight shipping or courier delivery, additional fees will apply.

Your countdown begins, once we have verified your master file and received payment! We ship and deliver digital downloads by the final day.

About the Process

We can provide the following:

  • Complete 2K and 4K Digital Cinema Packages (DCP)
  • We do a quality control evaluation of both the submitted file and the final DCP
  • 90-day download access for your DCP through Dropbox
  • Linux DCP formatted hard drive USB 3.0 or a theatre-ready CRU-DX115 drive.
  • FedEx delivery (2-3 days) of your hard drive (if ordered)
  • We can communicate with a festival or theatre technician to ensure compatibility
  • For physical media (DVD or Blu-Ray) we can provide a single, autoplay movie in stereo; a movie with one menu for stereo or surround options; a movie with three static menus and six media elements.

What you provide:
Read more about Preparing Your File Here

  • A master file –
    • Preferred: HD ProRes 4:2:2 or 4:2:2 HQ with stereo or 5.1 sound
    • We can take most standard formats such s MP4 or MOV.
    • Contact us if you have a different file format
    • Do not have countdowns, color bars or anything extra. We process your DCP “as is” when delivered.
    • REMEMBER: Your DCP will only be as good as the file you submit to us. Errors on the big screen or more likely to be accented rather than diminished.
  • Multichannel audio (5.1) must be one (1) track of audio (with 6 channels), not 6 tracks of individual mono channels;  also do not provide a stereo pair on channels 7/8 or any additional wild tracks.
  • For DVD or Blu-Ray authoring, provide the same type of movie file as outlined  for DCPs.
  • For DVD or Blu-Ray authoring, if we are creating menus, please send preferred (static) artwork for menus and let us know what elements you would like on each menu.
  • For single-movie DVD/Blu-Ray auto play, please send a stereo file. If you need surround added, this will have to be the additional menu option or mastering for duplication option.

The process:

  • Deliver your master file digitally or send it via mail
    • We prefer you use our file server to upload directly to us.
    • Digital files can  easily be sent via Dropbox or Aspera. We avoid most other transfer services.
  • Once we receive and verify your file, we will send an invoice
  • When the invoice is paid, we will begin your order
  • You will then receive a link where festivals/theatres/you can download your DCP
  • If you are using our DigitalDCP service with a partner festival, turnaround is 10-14 days after the festival conclusion. You can possibly opt for a $50 service fee if you need it sooner. Please check with us first.
  • If ordered, we will send the hard drive and/or physical media to one location within the USA if you order a drive.

Add-On Service Terms

Below you will find important information about our Add-On Services

Re-Encoding: Creating DVD/Blu-Ray files does require re-encoding files and may result in degraded quality from the original file.

Graphics for Physical Media: We do not create graphics; physical media is for master copies and backups.

DVD and Blu-Ray masters include one copy on physical media and ISO file for duplication/replication. Price also includes up to three static menus and six different media elements.

Stereo Upmix to 3 channel (L/R and Center)  is a process that analyzes common signals in both the L and R channels (usually dialogue) and moves it to the center channel.

  • If the audio is a true stereo mix, there will be a separation of signals on the L/R/C channels with the center channel absorbing dialogue signals.
  • If your stereo mix is mono on both channels, you may end up with the center channel absorbing most of the sound. Both are acceptable and often preferred.
  • We typically do this in scenarios where 5.1 mixes are required, such as for Academy-qualifying screenings or festivals.
  • We do recommend having your original sound designer create this or a 5.1 mix from the original sound design.
  • This process is only recommended when it is the only option available.
  • It is always recommended to listen to your final DCP mix in a theatrical setting to ensure it sounds acceptable and as intended. This is a signal-based process; therefore, we are not responsible for any variations in sound that are not intended.

Captions/Subtitles – we can accept these in various formats including SRT. You must provide the subtitles, we do not create them For additional formation, visit the FAQs page under the Prepare Your DCP tab.

Terms of Service

By ordering a DCP through us, you agree to the following terms:

  1. I understand that the quality of my DCP will be equal to what is delivered to Ready DCP for processing, whether it be a MOV, MP4, DCP Package, or other media file; I fully understand that Ready DCP does not edit, fix, or adjust projects in anyway, and they are processed “as delivered.”
  2. I understand that any compression/zip/rar of DCPs can damage the package and should not be done under any circumstance.
  3. I understand that this submission is final, if I submit a new/updated/different file, this will be treated as a separate order.
  4.  I understand that most projection systems are designed for 24/48 FPS playback. Most will play 25 FPS and 30 FPS, but playback is not guaranteed in theatres for framerates other than 24/48 FPS.
  5. Ready DCP does a “three-point spot check” of the original file and DCP Packages (created/received). If there is ever an area of concern, Ready DCP will do an additional QC evaluation.
  6. Ready DCP processes the files “as-is” and in no way is Ready DCP responsible for any of the content within, and that all files should be thoroughly reviewed and approved by the submitter prior to submission.
  7. If, in the very rare circumstances, that there is an issue with your DCP for any reason (including but not limited to errors on the original file, downloaded file, DCP transfer, DCP ingestion into theater system), Ready DCP is not responsible, we will, however, do our best to resolve any technical issues, and, if deemed necessary, create a new DCP from a new file.
  8.  understand that Digital DCP uses Dropbox to store/send/share files, which may require an upgraded Dropbox account.
