About the TCL Chinese Theater

  • The TCL Chinese will provide an incredible screening experience for you and your audience. Now, let’s make sure you are prepared to have the best screening possible!
  • The theater where your movie will be playing requires a Digital Cinema Package, commonly known as a DCP.
  • This is a universal playback system for theaters worldwide and DCPs must follow strict guidelines to work properly in a professional environment.
  • This theater will ONLY play movies with a DCP.

Our DCP Services

  • We will create your DCP, deliver it to the festival, and store it for 90 days.
  • You can use this DCP in any compliant Digital Cinema Projection System.
  • We use Dropbox for long-term storage of your DCP.
  • Send us your ready-to-go MOV or MP4 file with audio embedded.
  • Pricing: 1-30 Minutes is $110, 31-60 Minutes is $250, 61-120 Minutes is $400.

  • Optional Validation: If you created your own DCP, we can run a full industry-standard validation check on your DCP for $40.
  • Send us your Dropbox, Filemail, or Aspera link here.
    • Note 1: Do NOT send WeTransfer, Google Drive, or links not specified above. These and many other services compress files and can corrupt your DCP so we ask that you do not send those, or they only work efficiently with paid services. To keep costs down we limit the paid services to what we use above.
    • Note 2: DCPs must be DCI compliant (professionally made) for playback in this theater.
    • Note 3: Do NOT send Adobe Premiere Quvis Wraptor and OpenDCP packages. These are known to be incompatible in this theater and will be rejected.
